Process

A disciplined method, from first conversation to finished project.

Every engagement is guided by the Kaizen Method, so you always know what happens next.

The Kaizen Method
01

Understand

Understand your objectives, property, constraints, and definition of success. We seek understanding before action.

02

Evaluate

Evaluate the opportunity, the major risks, the constraints, and the paths forward.

03

Align

Align the team, budget, schedule, and the right expertise around your objectives.

04

Execute

Support disciplined implementation and informed decision-making throughout.

05

Deliver

Bring the project to completion and closeout, realizing the owner’s vision as a finished result.

06

Kaizen

Continuous improvement. We capture what was learned to refine the process and strengthen the next decision and the next engagement.

What to expect first

A Discovery Session is not a sales call. It is the first demonstration of how Kaizen thinks. The goal is not to tell you what to do; it is to understand what you are trying to accomplish well enough to determine whether Kaizen is the right advisor to help you achieve it.

You should leave more informed and more confident than before the conversation.

In a Discovery Session we:

understand your vision and definition of success;
understand the property or opportunity;
identify known constraints and unknown risks;
determine readiness to proceed;
and clarify the next best step.
How an engagement progresses

From Discovery, the path is matched to your project: a Development Opportunity Assessment when early analysis is needed, a Development Strategy when you are ready to move forward, then Development Management or Construction Oversight as the project advances, with Executive Advisory available for ongoing decisions and future opportunities.

Every Discovery Session is followed by a concise one-page written summary: what we heard, the apparent opportunity, the key constraints, open questions, and the recommended next step. It is useful to you even if you do not engage Kaizen.

Know your next best step.
